We live in a world where we are connected 24-7...
We're always reachable and spend our days and nights connecting by making phone calls, emailing, texting, and keeping a close eye on any number of social media feeds. But the one connection that it's easy to lose in this whirlwind is our connection to ourselves. We live in a culture where "busy" can often seem interchangeable with "worthy" in our minds, so we just keep moving. We're stressed out about being so stressed out and constantly searching for that seemingly elusive thing called balance.
You rush from one thing to the next, hustling, but never taking a moment to reflect and ask yourself—is this really how I want to live my life? What am I doing all of this for?
When you do stop rushing for a minute you might zone out in front of the TV or comfort yourself with a cookie (or two, or um, the whole bag), an extra glass of wine, or another hour scrolling blindly through your Instagram or Facebook feed.
You likely find yourself doing whatever you can to “keep busy” so you don’t have to actually look at what’s going on in your life that you’d want to shift or change.
But why do you do this? It’s actually pretty simple. It’s FEAR.
Fear of what you might ask?
Fear of being unworthy or of being successful. Fear of judgment and rejection. Fear of saying or doing something “stupid.” Fear of asking for help or standing up for yourself. Fear of being uncomfortable or of making other people uncomfortable. Fear of failure or letting yourself or others down. Fear of uncertainty or what might happen if you rocked the boat. Fear of not being loved. Fear of being alone or of letting someone else in. Fear of being seen and heard.
And all of those fears don’t just stay bottled up inside; they end up manifesting as other things in your life.
You gossip and put other people down to make yourself feel better. Take more than you give or give more than you receive. Snap at your kids or friends or family or colleagues. Procrastinate and avoid. Pick fights with people or run from confrontation. Play small or act superior. Use the power you have to spark fear in others. Act unkindly and assume the worst. Work too much, eat too much, exercise too much, spend too much, drink too much...you get the idea.
And we all do those things to distract ourselves from feeling the pain and fear underneath it all that we’ve been trying desperately to avoid feeling.
But by doing that you’re actually blocking the real you that is just beneath the surface waiting for you to bring him or her out into the light.
I think this is why so many people have trouble being alone, or worse, being alone and in silence. Too much time to think!
The thing is, if you don’t slow down long enough to take a look at why you’re not happy or fulfilled, you never will be.
You’ll just continue going in circles on the same hamster wheel you’ve been running on for maybe your whole life. So, it might feel “safe” to stay where you are and dwell in the discomfort that’s become familiar to you, but all it will do is keep you stuck.
Don't get me wrong, looking at the parts of your life, behavior, habits, and personality you want to change or improve isn’t always easy, but it is simple. And more than anything, it's worth it. You're worth it.
I mean, if you’re not even willing to look how can you expect anything to change?
The idea of exploring these things can seem daunting and overwhelming at first, but so would saying you’re going to clean out every closet, drawer and nook and cranny of your house in one weekend.
This is not an all or nothing right now kind of thing, it's a journey. And that’s where I come in.
In our work together I'll meet you wherever you are on your own path.
And don't worry, you don’t need to change everything overnight to feel things shift and change in your life! The first step is to simply be willing to witness your fear, and from there you'll be led step by step with ease because it will unfold naturally. I realize while I'm writing this that you might be like, "Yeah right, that sounds nice, but that won't work for me."
But I can promise you this, if you're simply willing to open yourself up to look and wonder "what if?" you've already started down the path to transforming yourself and the way you see your life. And the great thing about working with a coach is you don’t have to walk that path alone.
When you’re opening yourself up to going deeper and stepping into a new way of being in the world it helps to have a guide.
And part of what’s so powerful about having someone help guide or coach you as you’re going through the process of finding your voice, really getting to know yourself, and deepening your connection to your intuition is that you have someone who can believe in you before you’re even able to believe in yourself.
A coach can see all your potential and the gifts you have to share that've just been covered over by fears that've built up over the years. They can help you get underneath that and bring everything up to the surface so it can finally be healed and you can get on with living the kind of life you want to live.
The way I see it, the foundation of our work together is created from two essential ingredients—trust and truth. Our sessions will be completely confidential and judgment free.
My goal in all of this is not to change who you are. I'm here to hold space for you, inspire and educate you, teach you how to shift your mindset from negative to positive, and show you how to see things from a fresh perspective, but the best thing about this whole process is, in the end, you are the one who will change your own life.
You’re the one doing the work day-to-day and you're getting to co-create coming into a new way of being in the world that will not only make you happier and healthier, but more confident and connected to the things that matter.
And even though it can feel like it sometimes, you’re not becoming someone else when you embark on this kind of journey; you’re really just becoming more of who you actually are.
A little bit about me
Over the past three years I’ve immersed myself in doing trainings, going to workshops and studying the spiritual and mindfulness principles that resonated so deeply with me, and I’m so grateful that my own transformation has now led me to a place where I get to coach other people who are ready and willing to experience their own.
I've done extensive in-depth training with Gabby Bernstein and am a graduate of levels 1 and 2 of her world-renowned Spirit Junkie Masterclass program.
Studying with her has been a life-changing experience and in addition to learning transformational coaching tools to help people overcome and heal the fears that have been blocking them, how to lead guided meditations and how to guide people to discover what having an intuitive connection means to them, I am also certified to teach May Cause Miracles workshops, in groups and one-on-one, which means I can coach people through the process Gabby outlines in her New York Times best-selling book May Cause Miracles: A 40-Day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness.
